Visit With the Triplets

Last Friday night, Hailey and I went to visit Aunt Leslie and the triplets. They are doing so well. We each had a baby to feed, burp and hold (well Hailey can hold them really well). Just look at these pictures of how well Hailey does holding them. I know she will be such a great big sister when Baby Boy Berman arrives on the scene.

This picture is one of my favorites. What sweet expressions.

I got an update of the boys' stats today from Aunt Leslie.

Mason - 7.4 lbs. 21 1/4"

Connor - 7.37 lbs. 20 1/4"

Jordan 7.48 lbs. 21"

Isn't it funny that Jordan, who was the smallest one at birth, has now surpassed the others?

20 weeks

Well guys, here's the belly at the halfway mark. I had heard that you show earlier with your second child - I guess your skin and stomach muscles are like "oh yeah, we've done this before." That is definitely the case. Within the last 2 weeks, I feel like I have ballooned out and actually have a pregnant stomach now. I am wearing maternity clothes now that I remember wearing towards the end of my pregnancy with Hailey. I guess I should start looking for a moo-moo sometime soon if this is any indication of how big I am going to get this time.

I took these pictures of Hailey one morning before school during a week filled with torrential downpours. She loves her raincoat and gets excited to ask for it when it's raining.

What a ham!

Halloween

I got to attend Hailey's Halloween party and parade at school. All the costumes were so cute. They lined everybody up and they walked around the parking lot twice doing a parade for everyone to see.

Here are Hailey and her friend, Seth, walking in the Halloween parade. Crazy to think they've been in the same class for nearly their whole lives. (He is a day older than Hailey).

Here is the post with Hailey's first Halloween parade: http://babyberman.blogspot.com/2007/10/babys-1st-halloween.html

Can you believe how much she's grown and changed?

On Halloween our friends the Fabers invited us to a Halloween party for all the kiddos. We got to watch the Georgia game and snack on a delicious spread, the kids decorated pumpkins and had yummy snacks, and then we went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.

Here is a picture of most of the kids gathered on the porch before the trick-or-treating began. Aren't they precious?!

In hindsight, maybe it was a little chilly for the tights and leotard, but with the jacket (and the promise of candy) she was a ready and willing participant.

The people in the neighborhood had pulled out all the stops with great decorations, costumes and candy.

Needless to say, the kids had a great time. Aren't they adorable!?

19 weeks

These pictures were taken on Sunday morning after we returned home from church. Hailey had been blowing bubbles and I after taking some of her blowing the bubbles, I asked her to give me the bubbles because I wanted to take some pictures of her without the bubbles in them. This was so funny to me once I looked back through the pictures I had taken. Please follow the progression of Hailey's mood in the pictures below:

Happy go lucky...blowing bubbles.

I sure do love bubbles...

"Maaah-mmmmy, I want my bubbles!"

Then I told her if she would smile for one more picture, she could take a picture of Mommy. Amazing how quickly the tears dry up, isn't it?

Here is a picture that Hailey took of Mommy blowing bubbles:

Home After Florida

After we got home from Florida, I figured that I should get Hailey to try on her Halloween costume to make sure it still fit and that hopefully she would get excited about it and be a willing participant in her dressing up for Halloween :).

Earlier this year, I was shopping at H&M and found these butterfly wings and wand, and this little pink leotard and thought that it would be adorable for Halloween. It happened to fit perfectly and she enjoyed dressing up.

I love this picture (above) of her waving her butterfly wand and this one of the view from behind. What a cute little ruffly bum!

Later that day, Hailey wanted to go outside and throw the football. She dressed herself and was all mismatched. It was pretty cute, so (shocker) I pulled out the camera and captured the look of her fabulous stylings.

Florida or Bust! (Warning - Picture Heavy Post)

We took a trip to Florida to see Poppy and Grandma Renee. The weather was not all that cooperative with us, in that it rained 3 out of the 4 days we were there. But we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Poppy and Grandma Renee treated us to a delicious Seafood Buffet in Hollywood, called The Ark. It was so delicious and their quality and selection of food was outstanding. We took Hailey to the beach during the day and then we returned in the afternoon after her nap to see the sunset and have dinner on the beach. And, (of course) we did our traditional Saturday breakfast at IHOP, where once again we sat at our usual table.
Hailey did a great job on the plane ride there. I scheduled it for really early in the morning. The plane ride back home was a different story. She was overtired and it showed. Jimmy stayed down in Florida another week to work and I had a work trip to Baltimore for a show the same week. It was a long couple of weeks traveling but I am so glad we made the trip. I didn't know when we'll be able to go again, with Baby Boy Berman on the way.

We took Hailey to T.Y. Park which is right down the road from Poppy & Grandma Renee's house. It was raining when we arrived but it quickly stopped once we got inside the park. We made the most of it, even though Hailey got a little wet.

While we were there, I reached 18 weeks. And here are the pics.

Florida or Bust! (Part 2)

Here is Hailey in her normal seat at the IHOP down the road from Poppy & Grandma Renee's. It's amazing to look back at the older posts (click on link below) of her in the same seat...she has grown and changed so much.

We got to play in the ocean and Daddy and Hailey built some sand castles in the sand. Hailey has enjoyed the beach each time that we've traveled down to Florida! This was the view that evening as we sat down to have dinner on the beach. We watched the sun go down and were blessed with this beautiful rainbow.

thank you, Poppy & Grandma "Nay" (Renee) for treating us to such a nice time on our vacation!

The BIG Reveal

Hello everyone. The past 2 weeks we have been on the go and on the road and I have a few blog posts to catch up on to fill you in on all of our travels and activities, but without further delay, we are happy to share with you all the big news! Monday we went to the doctor for an ultrasound and checkup. Once again, we wanted to wait and find out the baby's gender with our loved ones surrounding us, so we had the technician put the tell-tale ultrasound picture in an envelope and to wait to open it until dinner on Monday night.

It was a long day, but I figured, what's another 6 or 7 hours after waiting for months!? Jimmy didn't see it quite the same way, as he was offering the technician a bribe to spill the news to him. Here are some pictures of the participants. Hailey got everybody gathered around the kitchen table and went to her desk and got her coloring books and crayons and got everybody to color. It was so cute to watch her organize her own little coloring party with everyone.

Once everyone had arrived, we had made our last minute predictions on the baby's gender, and we could wait no more, we opened the envelope...Pay special attention to the look on Jimmy's face. We were both completely shocked by the news. You may have to watch the video more than once to catch it.

I laughed so hard when I saw the video and saw Jimmy's face. The funniest part is that right before the video starts, I said, "okay, so Mommy thinks it's a girl, Daddy thinks it's a girl...Hailey, what do you think it is?" and she said "a brudder" (brother). So, she was the only one that was right.

Here are some pictures that capture the reaction as well:

Here are the thoughts that ran through my mind when I read the words, "IT'S A BOY!"
1) Well he'd better look good in pink, because that's all I've got
2) Boys are smelly :)
3) Oh, the trouble all these little boys (the triplets and baby boy Berman) are going to get into together!
4) What do I do with a boy?

It took me a little while to change gears in my head (and my heart) since I totally thought it was a girl, but I am so thankful and full of praise for this baby and his health. We were able to see the heart and its chambers, the brain, the stomach, liver, bladder, etc. We saw the legs and the arms, and hands and feet. Saw 10 fingers and 10 toes, etc. So, I am so thankful for the baby's health. I had downed a bottle of iced-down orange juice while we were in the waiting room, to ensure that the baby was moving around and we would get a good view, and it worked like a charm. He was really on the move. I plan to scan and post the ultrasound pictures tonight. Stay tuned!

My sister, Leslie, said the funniest thing about all the boys in the family...she said, "Poor Hailey is going to have the hardest time getting a date with all of these boys looking out for her!" That's about the truth!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

On Saturday, we took Hailey to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm and then to Gold Rush in Dahlonega. It was a really cold day but we made the most of it. First, we walked around looking for a few perfect pumpkins. They grow and sell over 30 varieties of pumpkins. It is a really neat place. I had heard about this place for years, but had never gone. They sell all sorts of seasonal goodies: gourds, pumpkins, Indian Corn, and fried apple pies just to name a few. I must tell you that their fried apple pies remind me of the ones my Grandma Hazel used to make for us – DELISH!

We went on a hay ride that was actually a pretty good distance. It took us through the pumpkin and corn fields and through a creek. I don’t remember the last time I went on a hayride. There were several great photo ops which you know I took advantage of. They turned out great. We were so cold, but this jacket I got for Hailey (a $5 consignment sale find!!!) kept her perfectly warm.

Here are Hailey and Daddy with our pumpkins:

After we were done at the pumpkin farm, we headed for Dahlonega to enjoy the Gold Rush festivities. We met up with friends, had some lunch, and watched some of the GA game at Johnny B's. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was a serious splurge - but totally what the doctor ordered. (Or totally what the cravings ordered). Here we are at lunch:

Then we went to walk around the square. We enjoyed funnel cakes and boiled peanuts and looked at the arts and crafts. You can see here, she was even warm enough in her jacket to catch some shuteye.

While Hailey was napping, we went into Shenanigan’s pub to get warm. Once she was awake from her nap, we stopped by the pony rides. Actually, Hailey’s horse, “Blue,” was not a pony at all. Look at how tall this horse was. The poor pony behind him didn't have a very good view all day, needless to say. Hailey loved it!

Then we headed to the Alumni Reception and got to see a lot of people we went to school with but hadn’t seen in years. It’s amazing how much time has gone by. I don’t feel like it’s possible for me to have been out of college almost a decade, but this December will be 9 years since I graduated.

I love Gold Rush and this year was no exception! Hailey was such a trooper all day long. No complaining about being cold, hungry, tired, or anything. She completely went with the flow and really enjoyed herself. We were home by about 7:45, had Hailey bathed, clothed and in bed by 8:00 and Jimmy and I were asleep by 8:30. I guess that’s where you can tell that it’s been a while since college J

Sunday after church, Jimmy went to get some wheat straw bales and we set up our Fall display. I had to get some pics of Hailey bug in front of our handy work.

Happy Fall Y'all!

17 weeks & Farm Day

Hailey had Farm Day at school on Friday and we dressed her up as a little farmer girl – complete with little freckles on her cheeks. She was so excited because she had just gone to Grandma & Grandpa’s and gotten to ride on Grandpa’s new tractor and she was going to tell everyone at farm day about her Grandpa being a farmer.

I have included pictures of her riding on Grandpa’s tractor so you could see how proud she is. She loves her Grandpa!

Here is a picture of Baby Berman 2 and me at 17 weeks.
